Now you have seen our top 20 albums of the year we thought it might be nice to find out what a few people in music have as their favourite album of the year, have a look at the below…

Mac Demarco: Rock N Roll Night Club
‘The reason I bought this LP was because of the cover. I saw it in Amoeba and decided to take a chance, on this very cute boy wearing lipstick and a denim vest. He reminded me of Jim Carroll doing a Bowie-type character album. His voice is quite deep like Lou Reed’s and he sings of the subversive sexuality of blue jeans, young love, AM radio and night clubs. If I had seen the cover of his second record before this one then I probably would have skipped him completely.’

Alt J: An Awesome Wave. ‘We have been listening to this while we’ve been touring in Europe. It’s an evocative record with brilliant lyrics and a great audio soundscape with lots of breathing space. It flows really well and the songs are brilliant.’

DIIV: OshinBig fan of the throbbing bass lines and woozy, blissed out guitars on this record. It gets stuck in my head for days! Another awesome release from the brill Captured Tracks.

Kendrick Lamar: Good Kid. m.a.a.d city

Ok my album of the year’s Kendrick Lamar: good kid. m.a.a.d city. It would have been swans but I’m obsessed with the production values on the kendrick lamar album. Also ‘sing about me’ is essentially eminen’s ‘stan’ for 2012 which is amazing.
