The team behind Zia Lucia is going from pizza to pasta by opening Berto, right next door to the pizzeria on Holloway Road at the end of August. Inspired by Piero (aka Berto), a pasta maker, teacher and friend to owners Claudio Vescovo and Gianluca D’Angelo, the restaurant will serve a range of fresh pasta styles using traditional, wholemeal and gluten-free doughs, including tagliatelle, pappardelle, pici, gnocchi and ravioli. The team will be trained by the main man Piero to make sure they’re serving up the real deal.

As well as the pasta, the menu will also feature regional produce like puntarella, carciofo, fritti and young fresh cheeses, with seasonal specials also on offer. The wine list will be Italian, with bottles coming from across the country, with Berto representing North London with the beer, which comes from Hammerton Brewery.
