basic rights pop-up shop

Basic Rights, the menswear brand founded by Vaccines’ guitarist Freddie Cowan, is popping up in Notting Hill with the new AW18 collection in tow. The whole range as well as some of the most popular Basic Rights pieces, like the camp collar shirt and the pima cotton tees, will be available to buy as will the limited edition Heroes Jacket.

David Bowie and his Berlin trilogy was the main source of inspiration for this season’s collection and the Heroes Jacket, an homage to the jacket Bowie wore on the cover of the 1977 Heroes album, is the star piece. Basic Rights collaborated with Aero Leathers (who made the one Bowie wore) to create the Heroes Jacket, which is crafted from specially sourced excess cowhide with a 100% wool waist from American mills that have been going since the 1940s. So yeah, this is not your average leather jacket.
