BAR DOURO TO OPEN IN THE CITY

We’re already fans of Portuguese joint Bar Douro but news that the restaurant is opening a second site in the City this summer has made us love it even more. Housed inside a Grade-II listed building, Bar Douro 2.0 will be bigger than the Flat Iron Square original with more counter and table seating inside, plus space on an outdoor terrace. It’ll look just as beautiful though with the same blue and white tiles, a marble counter and mosaic flooring.

The food menu is set to be similar too, with a mix of snacks, small plates and larger dishes including croquetes de alheira, suckling pig sandwich, salt cod hash and those famous pasteis del nata. There’ll be a bigger focus on feasting at the City restaurant with rice dishes and stews like arroz de sapateira crab rice and pork à alentejana (pork with clams and potatoes). Naturally, there’ll be plenty of vino too, with the restaurant offering one of the largest selections of Portuguese wines, focusing on independent producers, in London. Sounds like it’s gonna be another hit to us.

And if you get down there between the soft launch period 28th Jan – 11th Feb, you can bag 50% OFF food. Better book those tables!
