We were pretty sad when Churchill’s Port House popped down but now we bring good news…the man behind the operation, Max Graham, is opening a new joint called Bar Douro. Inspired by the cerveijarias and tascas of Portugal, Bar Douro will serve up a small plates menu featuring dishes like croquettes de alheira, Leitão suckling pig, octopus with sweet potato and favas, Cataplana fish stew, Fondant ‘baba de camelo’, Pastel de nata with cinnamon ice cream, and Portuguese cheeses. YUM. And given his family business, you can bet the vino is going to be top notch too, with a variety of regional Portuguese varieties and native grapes on show. What’s more ahead of their opening they will knocking 50% OFF all food for two days. Sounds like a winner to us.
