BAR DE PRÉS TO OPEN IN LONDON

Indian Accent in Mayfair was one of the first restaurant casualties of lockdown but now the site has been taken over by French chef Cyril Lignac (he trained with Alain Passard at Arpège and runs four restaurants in Paris) who’s bringing Bar des Prés to London. In Paris Le Bar des Prés only served cold food but Lignac will be mixing it up for London with a menu of hot and cold Franco-Asian dishes, like scallops with caramelised miso, Madras curried crab with avocado, satay fillet steak, and crunchy crab galette. Lignac, who trained as a pastry chef, will also be doing his versions of French toast, mille-feuille and chocolate tart at the new restaurant.

As well as an extensive, exclusively French (what else?) wine list, the cocktail menu at Bar des Prés will be a mix of new creations and Parisian faves like the Mayfair Sour (whisky, lemon juice, ginger syrup, coconut batida & tonka bean) and the Germanopratin (gin, St Germain, cucumber, lemon juice & champagne). Ooh la la.

Opens Sat 22nd May 2021
