BAR DASKAL TO OPEN AT BOROUGH YARDS

Borough Yards is the new development opening up just down the road from the iconic Borough Market. Like Coal Drops Yard, Borough Yards is laid out across a selection of old Victorian brick railway arches, viaducts and warehouses and it looks a lot like the King’s Cross version too. Looks aren’t the only similarity either, Borough Yards is also home to a Parrillan, with a Barrafina coming soon too, plus a new concept from Harts Group, the restaurant operator behind said sites.

Bar Daskal, named after the Harts’ artist grandfather Vladimir Daskaloff and inspired by his home and studio in Estellencs, Mallorca (some of his work will even be exhibited in the space), is a wine bar with a focus on Spanish wine and sherry. The list will feature a mix of Barrafina faves and new by-the-glass options, alongisde a short selection of cocktails, including the Agua de Valencia (with gin, blood orange & Cadiz fizz), the Clara (Estrella, grapefruit & lemon sherbet) and the Fuck it Ducky (gin, fino sherry, fresh tomato & spice). You’ll also be able to nibble on cold tapas like gildas, anchovies, air-dried tuna with olive oil & hazelnuts, chorizo Iberico, Manchego & La Retorta cheese, and pinxto de tortilla con aioli.
