BAO Mary will be the latest addition to the BAO fam and the first one to open for all day dining
First it brought us Taiwanese steamed buns and now the BAO group is taking on dumplings at its latest location, BAO Mary, just off of Oxford Street. The two-floor restaurant will be a take on a Taiwanese dumpling house, with a menu of dumplings (obvs) and cold dishes that are perfect for diners in a hurry. You can expect dishes like:
- soy braised lu wei assorted vegetables
- street-food style Majiang noodles with sesame paste
- ox tongue & chilli oil
- boiled cull yaw dumpling with hong you red chilli oil
- boiled prawn dumpling with scrambled egg & kelp broth
- pan fried mushroom guo tie dumplings with black garlic dip
- bone marrow with cured egg & mi gao rice
- Taiwanese fried chicken chop
- beef tendon nugget with burnt chilli sauce
- a selection of bao
The interiors will be classic BAO – a functional yet nostalgic space with white tiles in the kitchen and dark wood panelling in the restaurant – with a counter overlooking the chefs so you can watch the dumplings being cooked. If you’d rather people-watch with your dumplings, there’ll be an outside patio enabling you to do just that.
