BAO AND HOPPERS TO OPEN IN KING’S CROSS

Soho institution Lina Stores has already opened in King’s Cross and now two more London faves, Bao and Hoppers (both backed by JKS Restaurants) are making the move to the area next year too. We don’t have many details for the new Bao site yet but the third Hoppers is taking shape nicely. Inspiration for the site is coming from the coastal journey from Colombo to Sri Lanka’s historical Dutch town Galle, with design elements coming from the Bentota Railway Station and the Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel in Galle.

The menu will still follow the sharing route, with new seafood grills and beachside snacks like Mussel Hodi & String Hoppers, Black Pepper Curry Leaf Prawn, Tempered Bean & Cashew Kari and Pettah Whole Quail Kari & Quail Egg Pahe being exclusive to King’s Cross. The bar will be bigger too, meaning more beers on tap (including their own collab brews with Camden Town Brewery and SALT Beer Factory); cocktails on tap; and more coolers and sharing punches too.

In the meantime, check out all the other King’s Cross spots we love.
