They’ve been a success in Battersea and now BabaBoom – who specialise in ‘inventive’ kebabs – are heading north (much like fellow SW residents Brother Marcus) with a second site in Islington. Opening on Upper Street in the spot left by Vintage Salt this August, the new BabaBoom will feature all their fave kebabs such as the lamb and sour cherry adana, as well as some new dishes like sumac wings with date molasses; beef brisket, chilli and smoked cheese kofta keba; and coal-fired cauliflower with pomegranate, tahini and crispy onions, and their own BabaBoom draught beer. And if you work in the area, it’s worth swinging by at lunchtime because they’ll be doing a five quid special on weekdays. BOOM.
