Since working together at Viktor & Rolf, the Dutch/English duo of Wouter Baartmans and Amber Siegel have been serving up a fusion of sharp tailoring and sports luxe menswear which has proven popular season after season. With sturdy, masculine fabrics and bold silhouettes, Baartmans and Siegel have created themselves a niche as modern traditionalists.
Yet another incredible collaboration courtesy of the River Island Design Forum, this won’t be properly shown until London Collections: Men in June when River Island will be presenting a film in conjunction with the Fashion Film panel.
Baartmans and Siegel’s mixed up suits, parkas and sneakers and the accessibility of their attentive design has created a collaborative collection that will be popular with people up and down the fashionista spectrum. Included in the twelve-piece capsule collection will be a structured double breasted blazer in a high quality wool mix fabrication and a versatile goose down puffa as well as some petrol-effect snow boots and other stylish accessories.
The collection will be in-stores from September 2014 which for us, cannot come soon enough. With this coming off the back of the Joseph Turvey X River Island collaboration hitting stores, we’ll be keeping an eye on the Design Forum which could before long rival Topshop’s New Generation scheme.
