With fashion trends increasingly led by stylish street-wear, we were excited to see what ASOS had for their latest A/W menswear collection. Probably the strongest we’ve seen from them for a while, they’ve not only paid attention to detail but have also served up a quality of fabric, design and manufacturing that we wouldn’t expect from the high street.
The biggest attention-grabber was that ASOS now have a whole range dedicated to Harris Tweed, working with one of the most historic producers of one of THE most British fabrics about. The ASOS team have put together a range of super-stylish, brightly coloured, bold tailoring and outerwear as well as some really cool accessories all made from Harris Tweed. They’ve been working on this collab for a while but this is the first full range they’ve put together and we cannot wait for it to come out properly.
The wider collection has focused a lot on prints and patterns, applying them to the street-style and suits alike. We loved the S/S suits, particularly the florals which were selling like hot-cakes, and with this really visual collection inspired a lot by illustration and artwork we’re really excited to see them hit the (digital) shelves. Hound’s-tooth being back in a big way was another serious draw for us with pretty much the whole collection adopting it one way or another.
Street-style is naturally here to stay, with ASOS brightening things up and mixing some knitwear into their styling suggestions. Big, bright high-tops and neoprene jackets are the flavour of the day and mixed in with that is some classic, vintage-inspired sportswear.
With ASOS menswear going from strength to strength, quality going through the roof and prices staying acceptable, we cannot wait for this collection to start dropping over the next few months.
