Art-based charity Art on a Postcard is back with another fundraising auction and exhibition in collaboration with War Child this autumn, and this one has a David Bowie theme. Sound & Vision, run in partnership with 180 Studios, will see 33 artists create a piece in response to an iconic Bowie lyric, “We like dancing and we look divine”, from ‘Rebel Rebel’ on Diamond Dogs, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The likes of Stuart Semple, Ishbel Myerscough, Harland Miller, Jonathan Schofield, Andrew Pierre Hart. Leo Costelloe, Julia Soboleva, Peter Messer, Joseph Dupré and George Underwood (the artist behind the Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust covers) have contributed pieces to the auction.
There’ll be an opportunity to view the art in person at 180 Studios across Thurs 26th & Fri 27th September. The online auction will begin a week before, on Tues 17th September, and ends a week after, on Tues 1st October. Proceeds will go towards supporting War Child’s work with children living through conflict worldwide, which involves creating safe spaces for children to play, learn, and access psychological support, as well as providing critical aid.
