Crafted with Joy, Appleton Estate’s workshop series, is back for another round this autumn with three new sessions featuring some of the most passionate artisans in London; Blenheim Forge, Earl of East London and Grain & Knot. Just like the care and attention that go into the rum-making at Appleton Estate, from the distillation to the ageing to the blending, these workshops will showcase the same energy and enjoyment from the makers. Not only will you get to meet the artisans and learn a new skill, you’ll be able to experience what Appleton Estate Rum is all about.
All of the sessions will be hosted by Joe St Clair Ford and Lawrence Gregory, and include a welcome cocktail, the craft workshop, a brief intro to Jamaican rum, a rum cocktail masterclass, and a Crafted with Joy take-home tasting kit.
Cocktail Mixing Spoon Forging with Blenheim Forge
To mix the perfect cocktail, you need the perfect spoon so why not make one yourself? Head down to Blenheim Forge in Peckham to learn how to forge your own personalised cocktail mixing spoon with bladesmiths Jon Warshawsky, James Ross-Harris and Richard Warner.

Candle Making with Earl of East London
Candle makers Earl of East London, aka Niko Dafkos and Paul Firmin, know all about the art of blending and they’ll teach you how to create your very own hand-poured scented candle down at Bonds Hackney. The aromas of coffee, brown sugar, almond and vanilla complement the flavours of Appleton Estate, which you’ll be able to experience yourself as you sip on Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year Old as you work.

Wood Carving with Grain & Knot
Woodcarver Sophie Sellu from Grain & Knot will be taking over Benk + Bo to show you how to carve your very own chopping board, which you can then use for all your garnish prep when you shake up Appleton Estate cocktails at home.
