Literally, the lines of what constitutes ‘street art’ are blurring. Is it the old skool style seen in the 70’s Bronx? B*nksy style stencils? Typographic awesomeness of Eine? Our fair city is an ever-changing canvas that can be the size of a stamp, or cover whole building walls.
Young and ridiculously talented 23-year-old Artist Ant Carver is hosting his first London solo exhibition at The Truman Brewery. He’s done pop-ups, he’s from the Wick and does legal art as well, seen in venues such as Tina We Salute You. His style is National Portrait Gallery worthy portraits that fuse spray can techniques with detailed oil paint portraiture.
Walls are great for street art, er, being on the street. As Ant says, ‘Your work is immediately part of the wider landscape of people’s lives…’ but we’re looking forward to the formality and mood changer of a gallery space. We might even pick something up for the office walls.
