Another Sky will showcase the work of experimental artists from the SWANA (South West Asia & North Africa) region and diaspora
This weekend, Another Sky festival will debut in London with a programme of live performances, screenings and new commissions by artists from the SWANA region and diaspora. It’ll open on Friday, with an evening concert at the Bishopsgate Institute that’ll see pieces by Halim El-Dabh حليم الضبع, Sam Salem أسامة سالم, Zeynep Toraman, FRKTL سارة بدر and Mariam Rezaei performed live. That will be followed by an afternoon of short film screenings and workshops on Saturday and another evening concert from 7.30pm, with Hardi Kurda هەردی کوردە, AZADI.mp3.آزادی, ZULI, Salam Shamki and Zeynep Ağcabay on the lineup.
Finally, there’ll be an independent label and publisher fair on Sunday and the festival will close with one last evening concert featuring Nilufar Habibian, Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi کیمیا کوچک زاده یزدی, Jad Atoui جاد عطوي, Sophie Hoyle, Nour Mobarak نور مبارك, Mazen Kerbaj and Ute Wassermann.
