summer sadly comes to an end we look back at the action from On Blackheath festival and the beautiful leafy SE13 borough for a weekend of family fun and food. Despite a weather report of pure rain, the whole weekend shone bright in the gorgeous setting of Blackheath, complete with pink sunsets. The festival had a John Lewis Food Village with a street party meets Glastonbury vibe complete with live cooking shows from Hemsley and Hemsley, DJ BBQ and even Kelis. Saturday boasted acts such as Anna Calvi’s operatic soothing sounds and epic guitar playing, Elbow, Manic Street Preachers and Greg Wilson.

Laura Mvula was followed by the gorgeous and very pregnant Kelis, who didn’t disappoint our expectations making the crowd go wild with Milkshake. Gilles Peterson and Erol Alkan continued the party with bangers after a very well received performance from Madness. The weekend was a perfectly fun, quaint, British send off to summer.
