Anna Tobias, former Rochelle Canteen head chef and previous resident of P. Franco, is teaming up with 40 Maltby Street to open Cafe Deco in Bloomsbury, turning the former greasy spoon of the same name into a restaurant and wine bar.
40 Maltby Street in Bermondsey is known for its weekly changing blackboard menu and range of low-intervention wines (it’s owned by Gergovie Wines), and Tobias, having also cooked at places like the River Cafe and Blueprint Cafe, likes to create simple dishes that let great produce shine, so we’re expecting a great wine list and a cracking seasonal menu.
