ANGELA HARTNETT TO OPEN CAFE MURANO IN BERMONDSEY

Angela Hartnett has already got two Cafe Murano restaurants (the more relaxed spin-offs from her Michelin-starred Murano), one in St James’s and one in Covent Garden, and now she’s going south of the river for CM number three, opening up in Bermondsey.

The new Cafe Murano will be on the site where another much-loved Italian restaurant – Zucca run by Sam Harris, which closed in 2015 – used to be. There’ll be space for 110 covers as well as an open kitchen with counter dining, and the menu will feature Cafe Murano faves like salt cod fritters, gnocchi fritti with San Daniele ham, octopus with borlotti beans, and osso buco alla Milanese.

If that’s got you in the mood for Italian food, check out our faves here.
