An Immersive Gorillaz Exhibition Is Coming to London

The band will also be playing four special live shows this summer

25 years together is a big milestone for a band to reach – even if that band is animated. Yes Gorillaz, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s virtual group made up of singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, drummer Russel Hobbs and guitarist Noodle, is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and it’s doing so in style.

As well as a new Gorillaz album expected later this year, the band is opening an immersive exhibition called House of Kong at London’s Copper Box Arena in Stratford, which is promising a “peek behind the curtain into the unseen world of Gorillaz”. Expect sketches, storyboards, digital installations and more during the hour-long experience.

And if you still want more Gorillaz action, the band will be closing out the exhibition’s run with four live shows at the venue, with the first three albums performed in full – Gorillaz on 29th August, Demon Days on 30th August, Plastic Beach on 2nd September – and a mystery show featuring special guests on 3rd September.

Tickets to the House of Kong exhibition are available now, with tickets for the live shows going on sale at 10am on Fri 30th May.
