Raku Oda is opening Ebi Wines this July
After a stint as a sommelier at Heston Blumenthal’s three star The Fat Duck, Oda is gearing up to open his very own spot Ebi Wines, named after the “traditional Japanese colour name for grapes”. He’s actually been popping up with the concept at hair studio Teto in Islington for the past year but now he’s got a permanent site in Clerkenwell.
Taking over the site formerly home to wine bar Emmanuelle, Ebi Wines will run as a wine bar and shop, and it’s a small space so it’ll be walk-ins only. Oda’s tastings at Teto have included bottles from England, Wales, New Zealand, Georgia, Italy, Chile and Argentina, so while we don’t have a menu for Ebi yet, we’re expecting the list to fairly eclectic.
