It’s been ten years since Amy Winehouse died and there have already been a host of shows dedicated to the singer this year. Now it’s the turn of the Design Museum, which is hosting the Amy: Beyond The Stage exhibition this winter. The display will take you inside the life of Winehouse and focus on her style, musicianship, influences and creative process, with teenage notebooks, early recordings, many of her stage outfits and never-before-seen personal items, including her first electric guitar and handwritten lyrics being exhibited.
There’ll also be an installation inspired by Metropolis Studios, where Winehouse recorded part of her Back To Black album, and an immersive animated experience featuring archive handwritten material. The Design Museum has worked with The Estate of Amy Winehouse and her close friend Naomi Parry to organise the exhibition with the aim to show Winehouse’s legacy as an artist rather than focusing on the way she was portrayed in the media, so it’s going to be a must-see for all Winehouse fans.
And there’s more because we’ve got you covered with the best exhibitions in London.
