often has a bad rep for all night parties full of luminous new rave wearing kids that are often in a comatose state of mind, dribbling from the mouth, muttering utter gibberish and clinging on to trees in fear of collapsing…and to be fair there is plenty of that, but the island has so much more to offer. Not only is there some spectacular places that make your drool in a whole different capacity, outside of San An the island has a welcome, calming atmosphere too. One such place which offers an oasis of calm is Beach Club resort Amante, located in the mountains of Sol Den Serra housed in a cove overlooking a bay.

It’s picture postcard stuff. You are surrounded by cliffs and greenery looking out to the ocean, with a fine dinning restaurant up top, a middle section with beds and loungers and the pebbly beach below with crystal clear waters.

Unlike the dirty dish water cocktails of Ibiza town at Amante they know how to shake ’em. We’d recommend the Watermelon Martini if it’s on offer or a super spicy Bloody Mary – in need of a detox then check out one of the fresh fruit smoothies packed with fruit and veg.

Food wise there’s plenty of seafood on offer, plus what just might be the best burger on the island…we know, we know a burger but it was our final day and we were hanging. Fish croquettes were full of flavour, an Asparagus and Parmesan salad came as a huge portion and the rich fish stew was perfectly creamy.

The ocean is a two minute walk down the hill and with this being such a beautiful spot it doesn’t seem overly busy.

For a taste of something a bit spesh that gets you away from the madness check out Amante Beach Club – just make sure you book a sunbed as they fill up fast and are in limited numbers.
