Alphabet Soup is back but not as you know it. Deliveroo has given the classic dish a makeover for Pride by only featuring the letters LGBTQQIAAP to showcase the broad spectrum of identities and encourage conversations around gender and sexuality. The tomato & basil soup, which is 100% vegan, also features artwork from Daniel Quasar, the artist who reimagined the LGBTQ rainbow flag.
The limited-edition cans will cost £1 (with no service or delivery fee) with all proceeds going to Switchboard LGBT+ to help support the charity’s work in providing non-judgmental support and advice – calls to their lines have increased by more than half over lockdown with more calls from people who define their gender outside the binary and from people who have a different gender than they were assigned at birth. The soup will be available on the app from the Battersea, Whitechapel and Swiss Cottage Editions kitchens, so order away and show your support.
