allegra to open in stratford

The Manhattan Loft Gardens development is opening in the Olympic Park this spring and now we’ve got news of what one of the building’s restaurants will be. It’s called Allegra, it’ll be on the seventh floor, it’ll have room for 180 covers and the man in charge is former Chiltern Firehouse head chef Patrick Powell.

As well as house-made charcuterie Powell will be serving up modern European food, using herbs and veggies grown on one of the hotel’s sky gardens. You can expect dishes like mackerel tartare with salted cucumber and buttermilk, smoked eel pie with parsley sauce, suckling pig with swede cake and peanut, and baked apple mille feuille with Epping honey ice cream. There’ll also be an eight course tasting menu option, which should take the stress out of trying to choose from that lot.

And not only will you be able to check out the glass walk-in wine room, Allegra will have seating out on that garden so you can expect some pretty epic views over the rest of the Olympic Park too.
