Ourfavourite Brit ‘IT’ girl Alexa Chung has just added a new string to her bow, by becoming a guest designer for premium denim brand AG Jeans. The 20 piece collaboration is a true reflection of Alexa’s style…effortlessly messed up is how we’d put it. Vintage washes fuse with late 60s/early 70s style and touch of 90s grunge. From ripped up jeans to relaxed dungarees, the collection features live-in sweats, easy tees and embroidered over-shirts. Its Woodstock meets Lovebox.
New York based, Alexa travelled to AG headquarters in California to design the collection. Inspired by trawling through the rails in thrift stores, and style icons including Jane Birkin, Alex is the face of model-off-duty style. On collaborating with AG Jeans, Alexa says “The collection is inherently the missing pieces of my dream denim wardrobe, which, as ever, is predominantly inspired by a late Sixties, early Seventies aesthetic…I found the trip incredibly inspiring and an opportunity to learn about denim and make things I had been dreaming about finding.”
We have a mega crush on Ms Chung and we want all of the collection. Our favourites include the perfect boyfriend shorts, raw cut to the perfect length, they are a wardrobe staple. The button down mini skirt takes us back to our raving days and the western inspired shirt is the ideal blend of modern vintage.
Want a little more Alexa? Well you’re in luck, as the lady herself will be in Selfridges London tomorrow night (15th January) to launch the collaboration. Head to the Denim Studio on 3rd to try on the collection and meet Alexa at the exclusive party. PSSSST! A little birdie tells us there’s free gifts with every purchase of Alexa Chung for AG! These are the January blues you’re going to want to have.
