possibly one of the best band names we’ve heard in a long time Alabama Shakes, debut album ‘Boys & Girls’ will be released on 9th April via Rough Trade. A vibrant fusion of swampy dirty South rock, blues and soul delivered with punk rock fervor. Check out the pause about half way through after the chorus…gave us the shakes.

Alabama Shakes’ debut UK show, scheduled for 22nd February at Boston Arms was the first 2012 NME Awards show to sell out, so the band added two additional dates – 23rd February and 24th, which have now sold out as well, leading to the third show being moved to a bigger room in the venue. Jack White’s Third Man Records has selected Alabama Shakes to kick off its series of live 45 releases. A two-song 7” from the band’s fall 2011 session at Third Man in Nashville, is due out in late January.
