ACE Pizza Is Opening a Standalone Pizzeria in Victoria Park Village

It’ll be the first permanent bricks-and-mortar site for the brand

After starting out with Italian-American street food concept Capish? at KERB, Rachel Jones founded ACE Pizza in 2018, and has been slinging her slices from The Pembury Tavern in Hackney ever since. Now she’s expanding further into east London and opening a standalone pizzeria in Victoria Park Village this summer. Taking over the old Fish House site, the pizzeria’s interiors will be a blend of 80s nostalgia, a disco diner and mid-century modern vibes, with stacks of pizza boxes inspired by the visuals of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat on the counter.

Made with a biga starter and 48-hour fermented dough, ACE Pizzas are a cross between Neapolitan and New York-style pies – charred and chewy but also thin, crispy and foldable, a combo that’s now been dubbed ‘London-style’ pizza. The pizzeria menu is set to include:

  • Honey Pie pizza – fior di latte, spicy salami, fennel seeds, guindilla chillies, and chilli honey
  • Clapton Cowboy pizza – plant-based Texas “beef,” jalapeños, pickled pink onions, and chipotle ranch drizzle
  • Vodka Penne pizza
  • pizza sandwiches
  • slow-cooked Dexter beef meatballs in marinara
  • Caesar salad
  • rotating menu of house-made soft-serve ice cream

There’ll be beers on tap from Five Points (a long-term partner for Rachel as the brewery is behind The Pembury Tavern) and chilli honey margaritas to go with the pizzas.

Speaking about the opening, Rachel said: “We’re so excited to be opening ACE Pizza’s first restaurant in Victoria Park. Hackney has been my home for over 15 years, so launching here feels really special. Some of my favourite childhood memories are of sharing pizza and ice cream with my family, and I want ACE Pizza to recreate that same joyful feeling – fun, flavour-packed food that brings people together. We’ll be serving up some of our much-loved classics, but there’ll also be a whole new line-up of pizzas you won’t find anywhere else.”
