The Spiteri family is teaming up for The Latimer
The Spiteris have been working in hospitality for two generations. Jon Spiteri is an original partner in The French House Dining Room, St JOHN and Sessions Arts Club: Melanie Arnold is co-founder of Rochelle Canteen: their sons Lorcan and Fin had been running Caravel and Studio Kitchen; and their daughter Molly is Business Development Lead at Koya. And now they’re combining that wealth of experience to open neighbourhood pub The Latimer.
Lorcan will be heading up the kitchen, serving a menu that includes dishes like:
- black pudding confit potato with homemade brown sauce
- poached trout mayonnaise in little gem
- brown crab tagliolini with bisque and lemon
- oxtail with mash and horseradish
- almond cake with custard and poached rhubarb
- white chocolate ganache with clementine and shortbread
There’ll be a dedicated bar menu, featuring snacks like masala monkfish with tartare sauce and tempura oyster mushrooms with pickles, as well as the a la carte offering. Rather than a traditional roast, you’ll be able to get sharing platters of meat and seasonal veggies on Sundays.
Fin will be looking after the front-of-house and the drinks at the pub, which will include draft beers, Uncharted wines on tap, and a strong non-alcoholic selection. The whole family will have an input on the design, choosing the artworks that’ll be displayed alongside the recycled furniture and reclaimed crockery – a real family affair.
