Mob Kitchen is bringing a taste of The Bear to town
This summer, a food truck serving dishes inspired by the hit TV show The Bear will be rocking up to various spots across London. The concept has been developed by online recipe platform Mob Kitchen, whose chefs will be cooking in the truck, and debuted at Taste of London in June. Here’s what was on the first menu, so you can get a feel for what to expect:
- Cheese and onion sash browns (skewered hash browns served with extra mature cheddar cheese custard, burnt leeks and chives)
- Glazed pork belly skewers (‘pork floss’ in a ‘signature glaze’ topped with chicharron and spring onion)
- 12-spice fried chicken (12-spice buttermilk fried chicken, garlic Kewpie mayo, crispy chicken skin and pickled red chilli)
- Beef cheek doughnut (braised beef cheek, roast bone marrow, mature cheddar cheese with fermented chilli and crispy shallots in a sugar-topped doughnut)
Sadly, it looks like none of the actual dishes from the show will be involved – apologies to anyone hoping to find Sydney’s famous omelette or any braised beef sandwiches. So, it’ll just be a very subtle nod to The Bear, but fans who like the sound of the menu can find the food truck in the following places:
Boxpark Shoreditch | Tues 25th June 2024- Soho House Festival | Thurs 4th July 2024
- BST Hyde Park | Sat 29th June to Sun 14th July 2024
- Wilderness | Thurs 1st to Sun 4th August 2024
