a sex and the city conference is coming

After hosting a sell-out Harry Potter conference last year, The Book Club is back at it with Sex And The City, in honour of the show’s 20th anniversary. Yes it’s been two decades since Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha hit our telly screens and changed the cultural landscape forever. The conference is all about exploring the social and political impact of the show, with a morning session featuring talks from a range of speakers and writers, and panel discussions on everything from the show’s feminist legacy to psychogeography of the city to sex (obvs) in the afternoon, as well as The Pilot Club, a screening of the very first episode alongside a critical discussion. It’s cocktail time in the evening with a tricky SATC quiz and a load of prizes up for grabs. Cosmopolitans at the ready!
