The world’s first pickle-based pop-up will launch this April
From the same mono-food-themed event team who brought us the avocado pop-up, a Pickle-Themed Afternoon Tea is about to land in London for a limited time only. Hosted by Farringdon patisserie Oh La La! Macarons, this pop-up will kick off a series of similar concepts that’ll appear across the UK and focus in on speciality foods in unexpected ways.
As you can imagine, the menu is a little strange. The pop-up will see pickles used as the hero ingredient in pastries, cakes, jams and cocktails – as well as some more classic sandwiches – so expect the likes of:
- Pickle-shaped Dill and Lemon Macaron
- Gherkin-shaped Pineapple and Dill Pickle Mini Cake
- Pickled Jelly Trifle
- White Chocolate and Dill Pickle Mini Donut
- Smoked Salmon and Dill Pickle Cream Cheese
- Buttermilk Scones with Pickled Strawberry Conserve & Clotted Cream
There’ll be entertainment from a Vaudeville Group-inspired pickle-themed quartet, The Pickle Sisters, and you’ll get a jar of pickles to take home – just in case you aren’t sick of them yet. Tickets are priced at £80 per person and include the full menu plus a welcome cocktail or mocktail; if you love the briny-er things in life, get yours now.
