A New Yinka Ilori Artwork Is Landing in Piccadilly Circus

If Piccadilly Circus is somewhere you’d normally swerve, you might wanna rethink that attitude this month because Yinka Ilori is giving the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain a colourful makeover. For five days this August his Good Things Come to Those Who Wait installation – two 23-feet-high galloping Pegasus figures on yellow and orange curved plinths – will be surrounding the statue of Anteros. Not content with adding a splash of colour to the famous fountain, Ilori will also be spreading the good vibes through uplifting affirmations on the plinths, to encourage visitors to pursue their dreams. This is the first time in 132 years that the fountain has been decorated in this way, and it’ll only be visible for five days, so make a note to get down there and see it while you can.
