It’s opening underneath Slurp Noodles
Korean fried chicken spot Oh Gee just landed in town but now London’s chicken connoisseurs are about to have even more choice when it comes to fried chicken thanks to Dang’s. The new spot, which specialises in Thai fried chicken (also known as Hat Yai chicken after the southern Thai city where it originated) is opening in underneath Slurp Noodles in Spitalfields. Thai fried chicken is known for its thin, crispy coating and aromatic spicing, and at Dang’s you’ll be able to get it as wings or as whole chickens to share.
The wings will come in two coatings: the spicy, sour and tangy Larb, with crushed roasted rice powder; and the spicy and salty Zaab with lime. If you wanna go big, there’s the whole Hat Yai chicken, which is marinated in garlic, pepper, fish sauce and coriander, deep-fried and topped with crispy shallots, or the red grilled Railway chicken, both of which come with sticky rice and a selection of dipping sauces.
In addition to the birds, the Dang’s menu also features:
- som tum (papaya salad)
- tum tang (spicy cucumber salad with fish sauce)
- tum kow pod (spicy corn salad)
- yum salmon spicy salad
- yum mama yoo (spicy salad with instant noodels and minced pork)
- yum moo yor (spicy salad with sausage)
You’re well covered for drinks too, with ice cold Chang beers, soju, sake, wine and Thai-inspired cocktails, like the Honey Thai Tea (with Phraya rum, Thai tea, condensed milk & honey) and the Tom Yum (makrut lime, galangal, tomato, chilli vodka, lemongrass, lime & noodles) on offer.
