A New Southern European Restaurant Is Coming to Marylebone

Lita will be opening in the neighbourhood in early March

The team behind Chelsea’s Wild Tavern has teamed up with Canadian restaurateur Daniel Koukarskikh to open Lita with Irish chef Luke Ahearne (former Head Chef at one Michelin-starred Corrigan’s Mayfair) leading the kitchen. Short for “abuelita,” the Spanish word for grandma, Lita is a produce-driven relaxed dining restaurant with a strictly seasonal menu. The menu will frequently change around the regional produce available. Dishes, inspired by the flavours of the southern Europe and the Med, will be offered in varying sizes and are meant to be shared, and will be accompanied by wines from both small, biodynamic producers and established European wineries.

Complete with an exposed kitchen and bar, and plenty of natural light, Lita (opening on a former Carluccio’s site in Marylebone) is hoping to replicate the ‘ambience and warmth of a family setting’. That open kitchen will be the focal point, with an open grill ‘reminiscent of a grand chateau kitchen’ allowing diners to get a glimpse of the action.
