A NEW RESTAURANT HAS OPENED AT THE BARBICAN

It’s all change at the Barbican as Italian restaurant Osteria is out and Barbican Brasserie by Searcys is in. The menu showcases the best seasonal ingredients across British classics and European dishes, and it’s all great value too as you can get two courses for £26 and three courses for £31. You could be tucking into the likes of:

  • pan-seared scallops with beetroot & tapioca crisps
  • charred mackerel with pickled ginger & homemade dill mayo
  • ox heart tomato with olive puree & pine nuts
  • pan-seared stone bass fillet with carrot puree & shaved fennel
  • nduja-stuffed chicken roulade with leeks, borlotti beans & marsala
  • wild mushroom risotto
  • cheesecake with cherry ice cream
  • dark chocolate & matcha cannoli

It’s Searcys so of course the champagne selection is on point, with Searcys’ own Selected Cuvée Brut and Rosé on the drinks list, alongside cocktails like the Newbie Negroni (with gin, Pimm’s, red vermouth, orange juice & soda). The restaurant, on the second floor of the centre, boasts great views of the lakeside, fountains and brutalist architecture, so if you need a pit stop after hitting an exhibition or catching a concert, this is it.
