TBC (which stands for ‘The Butter Club’) will open on Golborne Road
Chef duo Gabriël Verheij and Alexandre Scour have been making a name for themselves in Amsterdam for some time now, having carried out a series of collabs and pop-ups together after meeting at the acclaimed Vanderveen in Oud-Zuid. Now, they’re coming to our part of the world with a new restaurant, TBC (The Butter Club), giving Londoners a chance to try the food that’s garnered them a cult following in the Dutch capital.
Between the two of them, Verheij and Scour have built up an impressive CV that includes Michelin-starred spots and spans continents. Together, they developed TBC’s USP: ‘luxury comfort food’. We’re talking fried chicken topped with caviar and indulgent, inventive pastries. Other dishes on the globally-inspired menu will include:
- BBQ langoustine and Sichuan butter sauce
- Yakitori leek or maitake mushroom with po (Korean dried meat or fish)
- Hokkaido milk bread lobster roll
- Fried oyster mushroom bao bun with soy glaze kimchi and pickled daikon
- Fried buttermilk chicken brioche feuilletée
For dessert, the duo’s original square croissant creations will be served with fillings such as cinnamon & pecan praline, corn & pickled blueberries and dark chocolate & cacao nibs. As for drinks, there’ll be a selection of craft beers and signature spins on cocktails. And the playlist has been carefully considered too, expect plenty of hip hop to match the A Tribe Called Quest and Method Man records on the walls.
