A New LA-Inspired Taco Joint Has Just Opened in Peckham

Angeles has taken up residence in the kitchen at Peckham Arches

Terrace action isn’t hard to come by in Peckham – the neighbourhood has some of the best rooftop bars in the city – but there’s also some great al fresco action to be had a bit closer to the ground in the shape of Peckham Arches. The 250-capacity venue is now much smaller and more intimate than when it first opened with a dancefloor and gallery space in 2022, but it’s still heated and covered, so you can still drop by in winter.

Peckham Arches is home to a bar, where you can get cocktails and tank fresh beer from Bird House Brewery; DJs spinning on Friday and Saturday nights; and a kitchen where different chefs and concepts have residencies. Previously Peckham Arches has had the likes of Ruben’s Reubens in the kitchen and now for 2025, new LA-inspired Mexican joint Angeles is in residence. The short taco menu includes:

  • al pastor with pineapple, salsa verde and tomato salsa
  • beef birria salsa roja and consomme
  • baja cod with cabbage, crema, jalapeno and pico de gallo
  • oyster mushroom with guacamole and salsa roja

Angeles is cooking at Peckham Arches from Thursdays – Sundays, so one for all you taco lovers to get on your lists.
