A NEW INDONESIAN SPOT HAS LANDED IN ST JAMES’S MARKET

From the same team behind Pino’s Warung, Toba is bringing authentic Indonesian food to SW1

After a successful start with their Indonesian street food concept in Camden, the Pino’s Warung team have moved across town to open a second spot in St James’s Market. The new restaurant, Toba, launched in late February in the retail and dining hub, joining the likes of Fallow, 45 Jermyn Street, The Wolseley and Maison Francois.

If you’re already a fan of Pino’s rendang, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s on the menu at Toba, as is the sate ayum (chicken satay). Other dishes include:

  • Mie tek tek jawa (Toba-style fried noodles with chicken and beef)
  • Ikan arsik (Toba-style cod fillet spiced with torch ginger and andaliman)
  • Gulai kambing (Minangkabau-style lamb shank curry)
  • Soto betawi (beef tendon soup with vegetables in a coconut milk broth)

As for drinks, there was the option to BYOB for the soft launch. In March, the offering will feature signature Tabo cocktails (such as their take on a margarita, the ‘Tobarita’) as well as a selection of wines.
