A New Club With a 24-Hour Licence Is Coming to Brixton

Brixton Storeys will be the first venue in the area able to operate around the clock

Popular Brixton spot The Prince of Wales is no more but it’s not all bad news because the site is being transformed into new venue Brixton Storeys, and it’s going to have a 24-hour music and alcohol license. Given that recent analysis by BBC London showed that there were more 24-hour gyms than 24-hour nightclubs in London, this is a very welcome step in the right direction.

The 750-capacity venue will feature three distinct areas; The Red Room, which’ll boast immersive lighting and Turbo Sound and Funktion One acoustic technology; The Boudoir, a more intimate indoor space; and The SKY Terraces, two redesigned rooftop terraces with full sound systems, a DJ booth and retractable roofs.

Brixton Storeys is opening with‘ A Tribute To Alfredo Balearic Beat’ roof party on Fri 18th April, just in time for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The full programme is still TBA but the likes of Mas Que Nada, Got Soul, Summerized Sessions, Dazed, Up on the Roof, Cirque du Soil, Milkshake, Reggae Brunch, Wallop and Supa Dupa Fly Brunch will all be hosting residencies and events at the venue.

Speaking about the opening, owner Stevie Thomas said: “We wanted to bring a fresh narrative to Brixton nightlife but stay connected to the area’s heritage. This iconic venue is perfect for that and has been fully renovated with a new perspective that brings it right up to date. Along with transforming the main club into the Red Room which will bring all sorts of exciting headline artists, there will also be a real focus on events with emerging artists and LGBTQIA+ communities who will be given a platform to party in their own unique way.”
