A New Chinese Dumpling Restaurant Is Coming to the City

Xi Home is expanding with a third site close to Liverpool Street station

Wenjun Xiang already operates two branches of dumpling restaurant Xi Home – one in Covent Garden and one at the Bang Bang Oriental food hall in Edgware – and now he’s opening a third one on Blossom Street in the City. The restaurant is inspired by Xiang’s hometown of Dalian in Northern China, with a giant neon lobster on the ceiling and wave artwork on the walls referencing the harbour city.

The 46-cover Liverpool Street site will be serving up more than 20 different kinds of dumplings, including abalone, sea cucumber, black cuttlefish, and jade lobster (which you can see being made in a glass-walled kitchen) alongside cold noodles, mushroom guo bao rou, soup buns, sweet & sour pork and more.

You’ll also be able to stop by in the mornings for Chinese breakfast and brunch dishes like pork wonton soup and deep-fried mantou and hand-pulled pancakes filled with prawn & pork patties. Xi Home Liverpool Street officially opens on 1st July but you can get in there now as the restaurant is soft launching.
