A MASSIVE GUINNESS BREWERY IS COMING TO COVENT GARDEN

Aside from a handful of places pouring the pints properly, London is notorious for having terrible Guinness – there’s even Instagram account dedicated to shit London Guinness – but things are looking up on that front as an actual Guinness brewery is coming to town. The £73 million Guinness at Old Brewer’s Yard is taking over multiple spaces across Mercer Walk, Langley Street, Neal Street and Shelton Street in Covent Garden, bringing brewing back to an area that first started making beer in 1722.

The 50,000 sq ft venue will be home to a microbrewery producing limited edition beers, some of which will only be available to try here, and running tours; event spaces and a covered courtyard that will host food, drink, and cultural activities; an open-fire kitchen, restaurant and 360-degree glass rooftop space; a Guinness store selling rare and collab items; and a space for Diageo’s Learning for Life training programme, with plans for the entire hub to be carbon neutral by 2030. We’ll drink to that.
