The Lee Valley Ice Centre is reopening this June, complete with two Olympic-sized rinks
Just enough time has passed for us to have forgotten falling flat on our faces at one of London’s many winter rinks that the idea of going ice skating is starting to sound good again. Perfect timing too, as it’s been revealed that the Lee Valley Ice Centre in Leyton, which has undergone a £30 million renovation, will be reopening this June.
The centre now boasts a gym, dance studio, cafe, community spaces and two Olympic-sized ice skating rinks – making it one of only three spaces in the UK with rinks of that size. Although the rinks are professional-level, anyone can come along to the public skating sessions. But, there’ll also be the opportunity to learn from top-class coaches who’ll cover the likes of ice dancing, synchronised skating and ice hockey.
On opening day (Sat 17th June), guests can skate for just £1 – mark that in your calendars.
