If you like it HAWT then you’ll wanna be in Peckham this May
Oh yes Hot Sauce Society, the original and biggest hot sauce festival in the capital, is making its return and it’s set to be the best edition yet. Over 40 independent hot sauce makers from across the country – including the likes of SaucyBitch, Chilli Chans, Heriot Hott, Little O’s Hot Sauce and Lazy Scientist – will be showing off their goods at Copeland Park in Peckham and competing for the Best In Show prizes.
There’ll also be saucy street food from Lucky’s Chicken, Yang’s Noods and Oh My Dog!; bevs from Gipsy Hill Brewing, Cazcabel Tequila and Cut Rum on hand to keep you cool; and DJs spinning throughout the day so you can drop it like it’s hot. As for activities, you’ll get to test your limits in the “Hop Burns and Black present Chilli Karaoke” contest, where participants will attempt to sing while eating a scotch bonnet, or if you’re not in a competitive mood but still want to get into the spicy spirit, head to the chilli face-painting booth instead. Tickets are available on the door, and cost just £2, so no need to plan too far ahead.
