Portugal is coming to King’s Cross for one night only
Haven’t got a summer holiday to Portugal booked yet? No need to worry because Portugal is coming to you instead. Yes after touring across the US, Port Wine Fest – A Festival of Portuguese Wines is touching down in London this June. Taking over Canopy Market in King’s Cross on Thurs 18th June, Port Wine Fest will be bringing you wine tasting, live music and more, all for free.
Because here’s the thing about Portuguese wine: it has been quietly outperforming its price tag for years. A free run at 150+ of them in a single sitting is about as good as a Thursday gets.
What makes it worth actually turning up is who’s doing the pouring. The fest is a great chance to try the wines in the presence of the people that made them, so come with questions, or just point at something you’ve never heard of and see where it takes you.

It all happens from 5pm to 8pm, which makes it an easy one to tack onto the end of a working day. Bring someone with good taste, or someone you’d like to impress, register in advance because entry is free but you’ll want your name down, because the first 500 guests get complimentary Portuguese bites and a tote bag of extra surprises. Saúde.
