Own The Night comes from DJ Dom Whiting and smart helmet brand UNIT 1
Dom Whiting, who has become known for his ‘Drum & Bass on the Bike’ series, where he rides through various cities DJing from his bike, is doing a free nighttime version in London this November. He’s teaming up with smart helmet brand UNIT 1 for the first Own The Night event, which’ll see hundreds of riders rave their way around a curated route across the city, starting from Pub On The Park in London Fields.
As well bringing a community of like-minded cyclists and music fans together, the Own The Night ride is also raising awareness about safer riding at night. Visibility on the road is important and most crashes happen at night because riders aren’t seen, which is why UNIT 1’s smart helmets light up to offer better visibility as well as protection.
Speaking about the event, Dom said: “I’ve always wanted my rides to bring people together through the love of music and bikes. Partnering with a helmet brand is something I haven’t done before, and to do it with UNIT 1 is fantastic. Not only will we be raising awareness for helmet safety but, we will also be lighting up London in a very special way on Friday, November 28th!”
The London ride is the first edition of Own The Night but Dom and UNIT 1 are planning to take it global. You can register for the ride below to get all the details about the event, and you’re encouraged to bring your own lights and shiny gear to make the ride really lit.
