A Cut And Blow Dry At London’s Biggest Hairdressers

Three floors of hair stations, this salon is one well oiled machine

Marylebone’s George Street is not short of good hair salons, but Gielly Green might be the only one that feels like it needs its own postcode. Spread across three floors of a townhouse just off Marble Arch, it’s less a salon than an operation, chairs upon chairs, colour bars, a wellness floor, and staff buzzing around like worker bees round a queen. Is it the biggest hairdressers in London? It might just be.

That scale doesn’t come at the cost of feeling looked after, though. Book a cut and blow dry and you’re met with the kind of unhurried, precise service that founder Shai Greenberg has built the salon’s reputation on, calm, considered, and thorough enough that you leave feeling like your hair has been properly assessed rather than just tidied up. The blow dry itself is the real headline: full, bouncy and built to survive more than a day out, exactly the kind of finish that makes you go out and stop traffic. If only….

It’s the sort of salon that is perfect for lunch-hour appointment, though if you do have more time then you’d be a fool not to check out the head spa. Open on Sundays too, which is more than can be said for most of Marylebone.
