Jones’ Crumpets is putting down roots. This October, the brand opens its first-ever dedicated café on Golborne Road, Notting Hill, bringing its artisan crumpets out of delis and market stalls and into a permanent space of their own. The menu spans larger crumpet-based dishes alongside grab-and-go options, all available on the brand’s signature flavours: Classic, Double Cheese, Cheese & Chive and Dark Chocolate, with sweet and savoury toppings throughout. Expect a hero breakfast dish, two savoury recipes built to work from morning into afternoon, and a sweet option, alongside quick-service crumpets paired with a rotating selection of house-made toppings. Allpress coffee and a concise soft drinks list round things out.
Jones’ Crumpets was born when founder Ian Endfield had a realisation that crumpets could be so much more: a premium product built for exciting flavours and ingredients, rather than something left to go stale at the back of the bread aisle. He spent nine months developing the recipe before launching the brand with a supperclub in his flat in 2017. From there it grew into delis and restaurants across London, including Ottolenghi’s Rovi and Islington sites, before expanding into online nationwide delivery and market stalls. The Guardian’s Anna Berill called them “quite simply, the best crumpets you’ll ever buy.”
The new café leans into a sleek, pared-back design with cues from the early-to-mid 20th century, centred on a large stainless steel counter where guests can watch coffee being brewed and crumpets coming fresh off the griddle. Quarry tiles and birch joinery bring in more natural materials, offset by a mural running along the walls.
