A CELEBRATION OF QUEER STORYTELLING AT THE BARBICAN

Out on the Page and Audible are teaming up this Pride Month to spend an evening spotlighting the dynamic and joyful queer stories found in poems, novellas, memoirs and more. ‘A Celebration of Queer Storytelling’ will bring together an exciting panel of exceptional talent from the LGBTQIA+ writing community, including award-winning Young Adult author Lisa Williamson; poet, playwright and education facilitator Gayathiri Kamalakanthan;  writer, performer, and theatre maker Travis Alabanza;  author and broadcaster Damian Barr; author and lecturer in creative writing Okechucwu Nzelu; and presenter and broadcaster Shivani Dave. The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A a portion, providing you with the chance to share your own favourite queer stories and characters, followed by a drinks reception. Plus, all proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Out on the Page, supporting their upcoming projects to aid the development of young writers, and Black, Asian artists and Global Majority writers from the LGBTQIA+ community.
