no denying it brunch is big business right now and there’s a fair few of goodies to choose from. We recently popped along to the 5-star Bulgari hotel which now offers Sunday brunch followed by a movie in the hotel’s cinema.

Brunch is served in Il Bar and features a huge cold spread laid out around the top with everything from freshly baked goods and fruits to Italian classic dishes including caprese, cheeses and a generous selection of cured meats. There’s also fresh cereals, yoghurts, smoothies, juices and all kinds of hot drinks plus a glass of prosecco, Bloody Mary or Mimosa on arrival.

Once you’re done with the cold buffet there’s a selection of hot dishes to try including risotto, eggs with all kinds of sides and baked cod. We went for the baked eggs served in a big dish with tomatoes and peppers.

The brunch really stepped up a notch when it came to desserts. We were there during LFW and each dessert had been created with a fashion theme – think miniature handbags made from macaroons, strawberry and rhubarb pannacotta topped with dress shaped biscuits. There was also a pretty mean Rum baba, light and airy tiramisu and some killer cocktails.

Once you’ve (over) indulged you can head down to the cinema and check out that days film – grab some popcorn on your way in if you think you have room.
